david coins.png

The Battle of Didgori occurred 900 years ago, on the 12th of August 1121 when the Georgian King David IV, also referred as David The Builder defeated the invading Seljuk Turkish army. Sources suggest that Georgian army had at least six times smaller army than the Seljuks. King David IV is regarded as one of the top military generals of all time in a list of most influential world leaders. The victory at Didgori serves as the beginning of the medieval Georgian Golden Age and is celebrated in the Georgian Chronicles as the “Miraculous Victory”. The swords illustrated on the Didgori 900 etiquette, represent the statutes found at the memorial monument in Didgori fields, where the great battle was won.
